Spring Flings

Spring is in the air, and as they say, so is love. (But then again so are bees, so be careful not to get stung.)

That being said, in today’s dating world, it can feel like everything changes in the blink of an eye. What was once acceptable or even expected is now off limits or considered “cheesy.”

Even the way we view classic love stories has shifted for better or worse.  For instance, getting hitched to your high school honey was once a beautiful and romantic story but that type of old school romance has taken a turn towards digital dating, social media creeping, and your friend playing amateur matchmaker with your heart.

Despite the differences in dating today, there’s still nothing sweeter than spring romance. But where do you find it in the city of Pittsburgh?

This aptly named rooftop bar is atop the TRYP Hotel Lawrenceville and comes with some pretty spectacular skyline views. The restaurant and garden bar features both indoor and outdoor seating, but if the wether allows, trust us and head outdoors. You and your love will enjoy Mediterranean fare plus cocktails, wines, and craft beers.

While some might consider this a bit of an unconventional choice for a date, there’s nothing more romantic than walking amongst the flowers with someone you love. Phipps certainly delivers this time of year – and then some.

Take A Hike
Pittsburgh is abundant with green spaces and hiking opportunities. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a total beginner, there is a trail for everyone. And as the weather continues to warm up, you can always find a new hiking partner to share in the adventure. One of our favorite places to start is the Emerald Trail on Mt. Washington. It takes about an hour to complete and will offer amazing scenery  and you can even bring your dogs along for a double date!
