Cocktail of the Month: The Gold Star

Equal parts polished and playful, the Gold Star gives a familiar school-day symbol a grown-up upgrade. Reposado tequila and apricot liqueur create its warm golden color, while lemon and fresh mint keep the drink bright. Honey adds a soft sweetness, and a pinch of sea salt sharpens every flavor. Consider it a reward for making it through another September.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces reposado tequila
  • ½ ounce apricot liqueur
  • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ ounce honey syrup
  • 3–4 fresh mint leaves
  • Small pinch of sea salt
  • Mint sprig for garnish

Directions

Add the tequila, apricot liqueur, lemon juice, honey syrup, mint and sea salt to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until well chilled. Double-strain into a chilled coupe, or pour over one large ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with a small mint sprig.

Enjoy!
