Brian David, a Pittsburgh native and self-taught couture visionary, is the creative force behind From Construction to Couture – the stunning gown worn by Daisy Jade on theCITYSCENE’s Fall 2025 cover. Crafted from red velvet upholstery salvaged from Carnegie Music Hall’s renovation, the gown channels Gilded Age elegance and imagines modern attire for the Music Hall’s original late-19th-century opening.
The ensemble debuted at the 2024 Ecolution Fashion Gala, held at the Carnegie Museum of Art and curated by Brian himself. Produced by The Green Voice Collective and styled by Izzazu Salon, the gala unites sustainable artistry, live performance, and environmental storytelling in a glamorous, immersive setting.
Brian’s approach is grounded in a belief that fabric tells a story and that the art is already present in the material – he merely reveals it. With roots in theatrical costume work and a reputation for impeccably tailored bridal and evening wear, he champions craftsmanship, fit, and timeless design.
As the Ecolution Fashion Gala marks its 10th year, Brian David plays a pivotal role in shaping Pittsburgh’s sustainable fashion movement, blending creativity with history and haute couture.
